Q: How long have you been playing / involved with Mayfield Utd?
Started playing when I was 11 so a long time ago….before colour TV
Q: What teams (division) did you play for?
Played for them all…..Tadgh even gave me a senior game against Mallow one time.We were 3-1 up with 10 minutes to go,I came on right full and we drew 3 all…….not sure if he regrets it.
Q: What position did you play and what position is your favourite?
Right back or sweeper……favourite position page 38 of the karma sutra but it gets harder to do as you get older
Q: Biggest influence on your footballing career?
Richard Keating……cleaning his mucky boots for bob-a-job made me a better person and player
Q: What players do you admire (past, present)?
Past would be Barry Triggs and present would be Davie Kiely
Q: Most memorable game as a player?
U14 National cup against Rockmount.They did the double every year with Roy Keane, Paul McCarthy, Alan O'Sullivan, our own Mark Hurley all playing with them. We went out there and beat them 1-0 thanks to a Mossie Lordan goal.
Q: Most memorable game as a fan?
Beating Leeds 4-0 to win the first Division Senior league two seasons ago. Winning the league and stopping your local rivals doesn't get any sweeter.
Q: What are your hobbies, besides the club?
Giving Tom McCabe in the Ashburton half my wages
Q: Favourite TV?
Ben 10 and Justin Bieber……..don't laugh when you have kids it's all you will get to watch too
Q: Favourite Film?
Shawshank redemption……Everyone says that when asked this question so it must be good!
Q: Favourite Music? ( the kids won't know LEVEL 42!! )
Level 42…………….Mark King on bass,that's music!
Q: Favourite Food?
Chicken
Q: Favourite Drink?
Guinness or Corona if it's for a BBQ
Q: What would be your ultimate personal goal with/for Mayfield United?
The last 40 years have been phenomenal for the club so my goal would be that we continue to do what we do and make the people of Mayfield proud of its club
Q: Where do you see yourself involved in the club in 10 years time?
Hopefully still helping wherever help is needed and still doing that with the fantastic people who make this club the special club it is.
